I never saw him when he was deteriorating - he didn't want me to see him that way and he'd moved back in with his family. He wanted no visitors and I respected that. I will never ever understand how people are treating their own lives and that of others like some kind of commodity which can be easily replaced or remodeled. This life is all we have. One had better treat it as the most precious gift there is in the universe. Be mindful of every single step you take because it will have consequences, good or bad. Most people are so caught up to live in the moment that they forget to appreciate the moment in which they live in. And if people in general would invest the same amount of time and effort into making this a more humane and liveable world as they do to condemn and ridicule everyone and everything that doesn't fit their ideology, then we all would benefit from a better life.
