I love the fall, cool crisp days and great sleeping weather. And I barely tolerate the winters here in Chicago. Try to keep your spirits up.

I understand your stand on winter. I’m from the Netherlands and it hardly gets cold in winter here. Nevertheless it’s the worst time of the year. The darkness, dampness and gloomyness of winter are a real pain in the butt once new year’s has past. Then it still takes MONTHS for the winter to give way to spring. My remedy: I go on an extended trip every winter (minimum of 6 weeks, more likely 7-8, next winter 14 weeks). Obviously I go somewhere sunny and/or warmer than Holland. I know I am a lucky bastard for being able to do that….
