Last night after work, Ray and I had to stop by the market.  When we got home we had a nice long workout.  By the time we were done…it was dark.  We didn’t go outside.  First night of the season that we stayed inside.  The cat was ecstatic.

This weekend, Ray is going to LA to see his mom and I’m going to make every effort to enjoy what’s left of Summer.  Pack it all into three days (I have every other Friday off).  Next weekend after that we’re in NY/DC and then after that, LA for my brother’s wedding.  By the time we get back for a weekend at home, it’ll be late October and we won’t exactly be frolicking around nekkid by the pool.

It’s a good time to start staying in during the evening hours.  I’m still working out every day and now, instead of splashing in the pool afterwards, I’m sitting down with my guitar (as promised) and practicing.

I have become comfortable with the Bowflex machine.  My determination to change my physical state of being has increased.  I guess when you start to see the slightest result, you want to work out more.

So winter is on the horizon.  I’m going to “cocoon” this time and focus on my workouts and guitar playing.  Next spring, I’m going to reemerge as a MuscleStud Guitar God.  Hey, why not…?  You don’t ask–you don’t get.

Uhhh…this is news?

The autumnal equinox has come and gone and monsoon left as quickly as it came.  As the days grow noticeably shorter, I struggle to wake up in the morning because it’s still just a little bit dark outside.

I’m not a winter person.  People laugh at my choice of the word “winter” here in Arizona.  What they don’t understand is that Bisbee is a mile high and where we live caps out at about 4400 feet.  It gets really fucking cold here.  The mesquite trees are deciduous–dropping their leaves leaving nothing but spindly crooked branches for the months to come.  The wild grass is turning from green to gold.

Goodbye Summer.  I had a great time–especially with all the fantastic sunsets you produced.  Looking forward to seeing you again next year.  The next few months are going to be scary to say the least.  With the political climate, the market tanking and all the other shit that’s going on, I’m just a teeny bit apprehensive about the inevitable future.  All I can do is pray.

For the past few months, I have been listening to Pandora Internet Radio.  It’s the best!  Unlike regular radio stations with tiny little playlists and lots of ads or satellite radio playing genre-based stations created by computers, Pandora learns what you like and plays more because you interact with it.  And it’s free!

But it’s in trouble.

Royalty fees and record labels not making money pose a threat to Pandora so I’m incorporating a Save Pandora widget on my blog for a while.  Take a listen.

I would be bummed if it went offline.
